Presets, custom ranges, and how far back your plan can look.
One date control drives every analytics page: presets from Today up to multi-year ranges, plus a custom picker. The home dashboard offers the short presets (up to ~90 days); the metrics pages take the full list. There is never a second picker for the comparison — "vs prior period" is always derived.
The prior period matches the shape of your window, not just its length: a calendar month meets the previous calendar month (March 1–31 against February 1–28), year-to-date meets the same days last year, a Monday-started week meets the same weekdays a week earlier. That is what keeps a 31-day month's comparison from being polluted by three days of the month before.
Each plan includes an analytics history window — how far back windowed reports can reach. The app makes the boundary visible instead of surprising you with refusals:
The comparison feature itself is also graded — on the entry analytics grade the Compare chip is locked with "Comparing with the period before is not included in your plan."
