Linking products to stores

A store sells only the products that are linked to it. The Link products page manages these links for the store selected in the top bar.

Who can do this: linking and unlinking need the inventory link permission. The Administrator and the Admin, Store Admin and Inventory Manager roles have it. Cashiers and Reports Viewers can open the page but not change links.

Read the page#

This is not a second product list. It compares your business catalogue with this store's stock records:

• Linked is what this store carries.
• Unlinked is the rest of the catalogue.
• All catalog is both.

Each store has its own links, so switching stores in the top bar changes what you see.

Link products#

1. Select a store in the top bar.
2. Go to Inventory > Link products.
3. On an unlinked row, select Link Product. The Enable store catalog products dialog opens.
4. Tick the products to link and select Enable selected.

To link every unlinked product at once, select Bulk link catalog.

You can also link a product to stores when you create it.

Behind the scenes#

• A new link starts at zero. Linking creates the stock record with no stock. Add opening stock through Add inventory or an adjustment, so it is recorded with a reason.
• One product, one stock record. A product that is already linked to this store cannot be linked again.

Unlink a product#

1. On a linked row, select Unlink Store.
2. Read the dialog Unlink product from store? and select Confirm unlink.

Unlinking deletes this store's stock record for the product, with its batches, serial numbers and history. There is no undo.
