Stores
Creating stores, the store switcher, and working across all stores.
A store is a trading location. Orders, invoices, returns, refunds and stock all belong to a specific store; the catalogue, customers, discounts and staff belong to the business and are shared across every store. Your first store is created for you during signup.
Who can do this: anyone whose role can view stores sees the list. Creating a store, editing one, and switching one on or off are reserved for the Administrator — whatever roles a staff member holds — because those actions spend the seats the business pays for.

Stores → Create store opens the form. Before it does, a dialog states the seat consequence — a free seat means "there is no charge"; with none free you are offered Buy a seat in the same flow; and on the Free plan (which sells no seats) the option becomes upgrading. See Seats & add-ons.

The fields worth knowing about:
The switcher in the top bar decides which store you are working in — every list, form and report follows it. With more than one store, an All Stores option appears: a combined view across your stores, not a store itself. You can read under it, but anything that writes a record — an order, an adjustment, an invoice — needs a real store selected.
Two more things about the switcher:
