Quarantine
Holding stock aside, releasing it, and writing it off.
Quarantine is the state between "on the shelf" and "written off": stock you still hold but must not sell — a returned item awaiting inspection, a delivery that looks off. Held units stay in your stock-on-hand count and disappear from Available, so nothing can sell them while the decision is pending.
Who can do this: viewing rides the inventory view permission; holding stock manually needs create; releasing and settling need update.

A pending hold is settled one of four ways, each landing on its own tab:
A partial settle is fine — release half, dispose the rest — and the remainder stays held. Settled holds stay listed on their tab as the permanent record of what was decided.
