Images
Uploading product images and managing the library.
Product photos live in one image library for the whole business. Upload a picture once and attach it to as many products as you like — a shared brand banner does not need uploading fifty times.
Who can do this: the Admin and Inventory Manager roles manage the library; other roles browse it.
Uploading#
Upload images takes several files at once. Two server-side rules:
- Format: JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP only — "unsupported image type — images must be JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP".
- Size: up to 10 MB per file.
Each image gets a name (the filename, until you rename it) and a public URL — Copy URL puts it on your clipboard for use anywhere else.
Using and housekeeping#
- A product carries one primary image (the thumbnail everywhere) plus up to four more — picked from this library on the product form.
- The Used in products / Unused images tabs split the library by whether anything references each image — the unused tab is your cleanup list.
- Every card shows how many products use it, so you know what an edit or delete touches.
Deleting#
Deleting an image removes it from every product that used it in the same stroke — including as a primary image, whose slot simply becomes empty. Products themselves are untouched.
