The shared image library: upload a picture once and use it on many products.
Product photos live in one image library for the whole business. Upload a picture once and attach it to as many products as you like.
Who can do this: the Administrator and the Admin and Inventory Manager roles manage the library. Store Admins and Reports Viewers can browse it.
Upload images#
- Go to Products > Images.
- Select Upload images and choose one or more files.
- In Rename & upload assets, give each image a clear name. The file name is filled in for you. Clear names make images easy to find later.
- Select Upload assets.
Fields and limits#

Each image also has a web address. Copy URL puts it on your clipboard.
Use images on products#
- A product has one main image, which is its thumbnail everywhere, plus up to four more. You pick them on the product form.
- The Used in products and Unused images tabs split the library. The unused tab is your clean-up list.
- Every card shows how many products use the image, so you know what a change will touch.
- Sort by puts the most used, least used, newest or oldest images first, or sorts by name.
Delete images#
Select Delete, or select several and use Delete selected, then confirm with Delete permanently.
Deleting an image removes it from every product that used it at the same time. This includes products that used it as the main image. Their main image slot is then empty. The products themselves are not changed in any other way.
